How to See Sunrise on the Reaping Two Days Early
Lionsgate has announced special early-access screenings starting Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at participating U.S. theaters.
That’s two days before the official November 20 release.
These advance screenings are exclusive to premium large-format experiences.
The announced participating formats include:
- IMAX
- Dolby Cinema
- 4DX
- ScreenX
- Cinemark XD
- Regal RPX
- AMC Prime
- Other participating premium large formats
Not every theater offers every format.
How to Find November 18 Early Tickets
- Open Fandango or your preferred theater chain’s website.
- Search for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
- Select November 18, 2026.

- Compare available seats, ticket prices, and any additional fees.
- Review the selected date and time before completing your purchase.
If you don’t see a November 18 screening, try another nearby theater or format.
The official early-access announcement does not mean every movie theater will participate.

Always review the current terms on Fandango’s official movie page.
Other Ticket Offers Worth Checking
Fandango also lists promotional offers connected to the film.
For example, eligible movie ticket purchases may qualify for a 20% discount on the official film soundtrack, subject to specific purchase and redemption requirements.
Other movie bundles and promotional offers may be available through participating providers.
However, promotions can expire, be limited in quantity, or require separate accounts.
Before making a purchase, compare the total checkout price rather than assuming a promotion automatically provides the best value.
IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX or Standard: Which Should You Choose?
Choosing a format depends on what kind of movie experience you prefer.
IMAX
IMAX is designed for a large-screen cinematic experience, with theater-specific projection and sound systems.
It’s a strong option for viewers who want to experience the movie’s scale and action on a large screen.
Dolby Cinema
Dolby Cinema emphasizes premium image presentation and immersive audio in participating auditoriums.
It may appeal to viewers who prioritize sound quality, contrast, and a premium moviegoing environment.
4DX
4DX adds physical effects such as seat motion and environmental effects.
It can create a more interactive experience, but it may not appeal to viewers who prefer to sit still during a movie.
ScreenX
ScreenX uses additional projected imagery on side walls during selected scenes in equipped auditoriums.
It creates a panoramic presentation that differs from a traditional movie screen.
Standard Screening
A standard screening is worth considering if you don’t need premium effects or want to compare potentially lower ticket prices.
The best choice depends on your local theater, seat availability, and budget.
What Is The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping About?
The film is based on the novel Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins.
It takes place 24 years before the original Hunger Games story and follows a young Haymitch Abernathy from District 12.
The story begins during the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
The event is particularly significant because it features twice the usual number of tributes.
Joseph Zada stars as the young Haymitch, while Mckenna Grace plays Maysilee Donner and Ralph Fiennes portrays President Snow.
Francis Lawrence directs the film.
For viewers familiar with the original movies, this prequel explores an earlier chapter of Panem’s history.
How Much Are Sunrise on the Reaping Tickets?
There isn’t one nationwide ticket price.
Ticket prices vary depending on:
- Theater location
- Screening date and time
- Standard or premium format
- Seat type and ticket category
- Booking fees and applicable taxes
- Available promotions
To find the current price, select your theater, preferred showtime, and seats.
Before paying, compare the final checkout total across the available booking options.
If you’re buying two IMAX tickets for an eligible screening, remember to check whether Fandango’s SOTRIMAX promotion is still available.
